Jammu, Oct 31: President of Young Lawyers Association, Nitin Bakshi, on Sunday said that Raj Bhavan is not interested in listening to the voices from Jammu. In a chat with Early Times, Bakshi said, “The present dispensation has failed to resolve the issues of people. Earlier regimes used to take everyone into confidence but the present government is not taking anyone on board. A few people are making decisions on the behalf of the masses.” He said, “Every morning I write to Raj Bhavan on one or other issue, but it’s unfortunate that I don’t get any response from there. It seems there is no one on the other side who wants to listen to our voice. I don’t know where our complaints go. We are the mercy of God.” Advocate Bakshi said, “We are not even getting any response from the Lieutenant Governor. It appears that attention is paid only to few selected complainants and it seems like pick and choose method. There appears to be favoritism even in addressing the complaints. It looks like that LG administration doesn’t want to listen to us.” He said, “I feel that BJP which won from Jammu is more focused on Kashmir. See the courage of ant-national elements despite Union Home M > ‘Situation has become such that no one is being heard’ > 'Earlier regimes used to take everyone on board, now only few people take decisions nister being present in J&K they raised slogans in favour of Pakistan. As nationalist people we will not tolerate such actions. We are nationalist people and are ready to lay down our lives for the country.” Advocate Bakshi said that the administration seems “hell bent” upon weakening the lawyer community. “The government is not helping us. The administration believes in show off. It is spending money on pomp and show, including advertisements, but is not doing much to address the real issues confronting a common man,” he added. “I urge the government to pay some attention towards the lawyers community,” he said. Referring to the system in sub-registrar offices he said, “When sale deeds and other registries that were handled in the courts everything used to be done smoothly. In the morning Judges used to register the documents and in the next half they used to hear criminal and civil cases.” Advocate Bakshi said, “People are finding it very hard to get sale deeds and other documents registered.” The young advocate said that he would contest the assembly elections in J&K whenever these are held. “I want to raise the issues of my people within the assembly and become their voice,” he added. |
