Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 31: To observe 37th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Pradesh Mahila Congress organized several programmes, including blood donation camps at Govt Medical College, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu at Blood Bank. These programmes were held under the leadership of Indu Pawar, former MLA and president of Pradesh Mahila Congress. Speaking on the occasion, Indu Pawar said that the history of Congress is full of sacrifices for Mother India. She said that former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi sacrificed her life for the integration and unity of the country. While paying tributes to the late Prime Minister, the Mahila Congress president said, "All Congress workers have to work for the unity and integrity of the country and it is the real tributes to Indira Gandhi" "We have inherited a great nation; today it is our duty to transform this immense pride we feel into a renewed commitment to protect it and uphold its interests", she said, adding, "Indira Gandhi represented strength. She epitomized sacrifice. She personified service. A billion salutes to the Iron Lady of India, our very first woman Prime Minister, a true Bharat Ratna, Indira Gandhi, on her death anniversary". Those who donated blood include Indu Pawar, Vandana Makhnotra, Reeta Kanojia, Veena Kumari, Indu Kour, Sashi and others. |
