Nukad Natak presented on Poshan Abhiyan at Majalta

UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: The Tribal Research Institute, J&K in collaboration with National Health Mission and Directorate of Information & Public Relations (J&K), today presented a Nukad Natak on the theme Poshan Abhiyan here at Chadawa Block Majalta of District Udhampur.
Block Medical Officer, Majalta, Dr Sangeeta Ajrawat was the chief guest, while District Information Officer, Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Digra presided over the programme.
Artists of the Information Department and local artists of District Udhampur presented a theme based Nukad Natak on Poshan Abhiyan which was highly applauded by the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed the need for sensitizing the people about the Poshan Abhiyan. She said the main aims of the scheme are to prevent and reduce malnutrition and other allied diseases of malnutrition among the children , women and adolescent girls. She appealed to the common masses of the Block to actively participate in the campaign to make the district free from malnutrition. The chief guest laid emphasis on spreading mass awareness about various central sponsored schemes.
She impressed upon the field functionaries to work with zeal and sensitize the targeted group about the importance of nutrition. She added that the approach of Poshan Abhiyan is to eradicate malnutrition or undernourishment across the district. PRIs appreciated the efforts made by Information and other allied Departments for organizing this Nukad Natak.
On the occasion, ICDS Health & Nutrition Mobilizer, Jyoti Sharma also threw light on the importance of notorious food, health and hygiene.
Sarpanches, Panches, Tribal Community members and general public of the area besides officers/ officials of ICDS, Health and Information department attended the programme.
