Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 9: Expressing concern over growing unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, senior Congress leader and former Minister, Mula Ram and DCC Jammu Rural President, Hari Singh Chib demanded implementation of law on the pattern of Haryana Government which makes provision for 75 per cent reservation of jobs for local youth in all the establishments.
In a statement issued to media here today, the senior Congress leaders castigated the BJP Government at the Centre for its failure to provide employment to the youth of J&K. They said that BJP had made tall promises of providing thousands of jobs to unemployed people, especially post Articles 370 and 35A abrogation that has turned out to be a cruel joke upon the youth of this Union Territory. They said that various states and Union Territories have created laws to safeguard jobs and resources for their own people at the local level and today there is a dire need for such a law here also.
The senior Congress leaders said that in this regard the UT Administration must emulate the law brought by the Haryana Government titled 'Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020'.
Mula Ram and Hari Singh asserted that the educated youth are highly disappointed over the flip flops of the ruling party over the burning issues of the people of this Union Territory. They alleged that a scary situation is erupting in which the unemployed youth are getting restive and agitated with none to address their bonafide concerns and apprehensions. "Therefore we appeal to the Union Territory Administration led by Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to bring a law on the pattern of Haryana State to ensure 75 per cent reservation to locals in all jobs before it is too late" the senior leaders stated.
