GCOE Jammu signs MoU with AYUSH

JAMMU, Nov 27: Govt College of Education (GCOE) Jammu today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AYUSH, J&K, Department of Health and Medical Education, in a programme held today in the college. The programme began with a formal address by Dr Rajinder Kour, convener of the programme. It was followed by address of Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the college. In her address, she said that Education and Health are integral to each other, after the onslaught of Covid, the world has come to the realization of importance of Ayurveda and being future teachers and teacher educators, it is important for teacher educators, to get trained and then propagate the idea of holistic health. After her address Dr Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu presented her views on Ayurveda.
Dr Arun Gupta, Medical Officer also congratulated the college on signing the MOU with Ayush and he assured all possible help from the Department for the propagation of good physical and mental health. The Medical Officers, Dr Aruna Bhatt, Dr Rajesh Gupta and Dr Vishnu from J&K Ayush were also present in the meeting. One of the MEd student, Payal Sharma also presented her thoughts on the importance of Ayurveda in holistic development. The programme was conducted by Prof Shalini Rana. The programme was organized by Dr Rajinder Kour and Dr Jyoti Parihar. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof Shapia Shameem. The faculty members present on occasion were Prof Koushal Mangotra, Dr Anuradha Seth, Dr Sushma Bala, Dr Taahira Shah, Dr Shalini Sharma, Prof Rubina Yasmeen, Dr Deep K Bangotra, Prof Vinay Lata, Prof Seema Kumari, Prof Neeraj Verma and Prof Sarita Dogra.
