DC participates in weekly block Diwas program at Thathri
Asks departments to meet benchmarks of Good Governance; maintain record of grievances, ensure timely disposal

DODA, Dec 8: Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today participated in a weekly block diwas program at Doda and Thathri sub division where he interacted with the locals and listened to their grievances.
During the program, the DC felicitated the recently appointed Class IV candidates under Yogyata Se Rozgar Mahotsav and congratulated them for their selection in the most transparent and fast tracked recruitment process initiated by the UT Govt of J&K.
While listening to the grievances of the locals, the DC issued on spot directions to the concerned authorities to ensure compliance without any fail.
Responding to public complaints, the DC took strong note of unnecessary delay in the construction of the bus stand at Thathri. He directed the concerned to complete the tendering process within minimum possible time for early start of the work and its completion with judicious use of the funds. Besides, he asked the Tehsildar Thathri to submit the factual report with regard to the alignment issue raised by the locals for Thathri Cheera and Kathawa road.
With regard to only one lineman in Jal Shakti for both the rural and urban areas, the DC directed the AEE concerned to post another lineman for the Thathri so that people may not suffer, besides, he asked the Tehsildar and SDM to submit the report with regard to the toilet complex causing nuisance so that proper action shall be initiated in this regard under rules.
For better service delivery and time bound grievance redressal, the DC asked the Tehsildars to maintain record department wise grievances and track the same on daily basis for timely disposal.
For wide publicity of schemes taken up under JJM in sub division Thathri, the DC directed the concerned to install a big hoarding at Tehsil office or any other public location for the people's awareness. He further directed the Tehsildars to install a desk in their office premises for demonstration of land record of the people on Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani digital platform.
Meanwhile, Class IV candidates were also felicitated at other different locations by SDMs, who also listened to the grievances of the people.
As many as 139 grievances/applications were received during the day long program, and all feasible issues were redressed by the officers/officials of respective departments on the spot, besides several services which included 40 category certificates, 64 Domicile certificates, besides 18 different revenue papers were provided to the people on spot.
In addition to this 10 ration cards were seeded and around 8 families were covered under Ayushman Bharat scheme.
