RAJOURI, Dec 22: Excise department destroyed four working stills, five litres of illicit liquor and 250 kilograms of Lahan during different raids carried out to arrest the menace of illicit distillation and sale of illicit liquor in Excise Range Rajouri-Poonch On the directions of Excise Commissioner, Kishore Singh Chib and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu Kusum Sharma, a team of excise eradication and enforcement wing led by Narinder Singh and excise team Rajouri led by Mohammad Arif along with inspector Mohammad Farooq raided Devak Athal, Batal, Makool Nallah, Nether, Patah and Laam areas of Rajouri to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor and illicit sale of IMFL.
In the process five litres of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of three accused Jarnail Singh, Surinder Singh and Ranjut Singh. The raiding team also recovered three working stills, 250 kilograms of Lahan, raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious to health from state land and later destroyed on spot.
