Early Times Report

Doda, Dec 22: The Jatheli-to-Punakher Link road, which connects 4,000 souls with the district headquarters in Doda district, has been incomplete for the past many years due to the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the authorities.
Talking to Early Times, a local resident, Farid Ahmed Naik said, "The road being constructed by the R&B department connects several areas of Gundna and Ghat blocks of Doda district and also connects these remote areas with the district headquarters. But due to the negligence of the authorities this road is still incomplete.”
He further said that some landlords at Shiva village have closed the road due to non-receipt of compensation, which is making commuters suffer. The roadblocks at Shiva are causing trouble. Because for the last two or three years, they have had to make a long detour and hire a vehicle at Jatheli or Prem Nagar. Various social workers and ordinary people from the area knocked on the doors of the authorities several times, but there was no response, according to the locals.
Due to the silence of the authorities, the people have become very tired and are now ready to take to the streets as a last resort.
Another local resident, Bashir Ahmed, who is also a social worker said that he has been knocking on the doors of the authorities for the last several years, but so far nothing has been heard from him, so people are being forced to go to the authorities and are being forced to take to the streets to raise their voices against him.
The locals requested the district administration of Doda to intervene so that the dispute pending for years should be resolved as soon as possible.
