| GDC Ramgarh organizes seminar on “Violation of Children Rights” | | |

SAMBA, Dec 22: A seminar on “Violation of Rights of Children” was held today by the Department of Political Science, Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh under the banner “Know Your Constitution” as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the college. On the onset of the event, welcome address was delivered by Dr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Department of Political Science. He advocated the protection of child rights since children constitute one-third of the total population of the world. Moreover, they are future citizens of the country. Dr Narinder Singh in his presentation shed light on the Child Labour especially among Tribal Children. According to him, child labour is still a big social problem even after the attainment of 75 years of Independence.
Dr Pinky Rakwal in her presentation discussed the significance of child rights in detail by supplementing it with major social and economic issues hampering the implementation of child rights.
Sonia Devi (IIIrd Semester), Amanpreet Kour (IIIrd Semester) and Nitin Sharma (Vth Semester) students of the campus also participated enthusiastically and delivered talk on the topic. Concluding remarks and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ekta Rani, Department of Hindi. All the teaching and non-teaching members of the college were present on the occasion. Last but not the least, students of the college gave patient listening to make this event successful. |
