CHENANI, Dec 22: Govt Degree College (GDC) Chenani under the auspices of its Science Club, NSS unit, PRAYATNA, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) organized one day seminar today to commemorate the ‘National Mathematics Day’, the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the legendary mathematician, under the theme, “The Applications of Mathematics in Daily Life”.
The purpose of the program was to create awareness on Mathematics and its role in day to day life as also to remember the contributions of the great mathematician, Ramanujan.
Dr. Rameshwar Singh, Lecturer Department of Mathematics highlighted the importance of mathematics and expressed his views on the life history of Srinivasa Ramanujan. Prof. Hafeez Ahmed Mir, Head, Department of Political Science also presented his talk on the occasion. Students of the college showed active participation in the event and presented their views. On the occasion, Principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna said that Mathematics is not only a subject but it is such a powerful tool which helps us to understand every equation, the most important theory of the creation of the universe and its other components. She highlighted as how mathematics plays a major role not only as a subject but as a development factor in an individual’s life.
