| Good Governance Week: DC Rajouri hands over keys of 4 Tractors to farmers under SMAM scheme | | |  Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Dec 25: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today handed over keys of 04 Tractors to the farmers under Centrally Sponsored Scheme,
Sub Mission Agriculture Mechanization (SMAM) and flagged off the
same here from DC office complex. Among the others, ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh;
ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; Chief Horticulture Officer, Madan Lal; District Horticulture Officer, Shafqat Mir; AD
Planning, Mohd Rafi besides officials of the Horticulture Department were present on the occasion.
The SMAM scheme aims to increase the reach of farm mechanization to small and marginal farmers and to the areas where farm power availability is low. The beneficiary farmers will be given a subsidy of Rs 2 lakh for each tractor under the scheme.
Highlighting the role of modern technology in the field of agriculture, the DC said that agricultural mechanization has given impetus to agricultural growth and strengthened the economic condition of farmers.
Stressing upon the need to sensitize the farmers about latest technological interventions, he asked the concerned officers to generate mass awareness about various schemes launched by the Government for enhancing their income and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same. |
