| Kansal holds meeting at GGM Science College | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 25: The Principal Secretary to Govt., Higher Education Department , Rohit Kansal convened a meeting in G.G.M. Science College, Jammu on the 25th of December 2021 with principals of different colleges and officials from various construction agencies.
The agenda of the meeting was to review the physical and financial progress of projects of different colleges of Jammu Division being executed by JKPCC, JK Housing Board, Police Housing Corporation and R&B, Jammu.
After taking a detailed review of the various issues that were being faced in the completion of many languishing projects, he stressed upon the need to complete the same within the stipulated timeframe and to ensure optimum quality of the work done.
The Principal Secretary interacted with the principals regarding the implementation of New Education Policy 2020 and reiterated the need for wholesome education. He laid emphasis on the need to shift from output-based education to outcome-based learning and for accountability at all levels in Higher Education Institutions. He also outlined the targets that colleges must set for themselves in accordance with New Education Policy.
Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department also addressed the gathering and highlighted the relevance of skill-based education for greater employability of youth and suggested suitable reforms in the curriculum and its transaction in the classroom.
The meeting was also attended by G.M. Ganaie, Director Planning and Rakesh Kumar Badyal, Additional Secretary to Govt., Higher Education Department. |
