| Deptt of Horticulture organizes awareness camp at Panchayat Samwan | | |

JAMMU, Dec 29: Department of Horticulture, district Jammu organized an awareness camp at Panchayat Samwan, a far flung area of tehsil Khour under the chairmanship of Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak.
Addressing a large gathering of farmers including women, Savak elaborated in detail about the incentives available under the various centrally and state sponsored schemes of the department and urged them to come forward, associate with the horticulture department to adopt cluster approach for high density plantation in an at least one thousand kanal area, so that irrigation facility for the orchard on 100% subsidy can be provided on community basis. The Director Horticulture directed the Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu to ensure 100 percent Kissan Credit Cards coverage of departmental beneficiaries as well as updation of exiting KCC. He impressed upon women farmers to establish low cost preservation units with the departmental assistance and raise their economic status. |
