Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 29: At a time when the people of Jammu region are facing hardships of winter the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has come out with long curtailment schedule for most of the areas from today over the next few days.
According to the curtailment schedule drawn by the Superintending Engineer OM Circle JPDCL the curtailment would start from 9 in the morning and end at 3.00 PM. This means that areas would face a huge cut of six hours at a stretch and this goes against the commitment of the people at helm that round the clock would be supplied to the people. The curtailment schedule as drawn by the JPDCL states that dozens of areas would face the power cut for six hours. The curtailment schedule states that areas would be covered on alternate days with regards to power curtailment with today being the first day of the curtailment schedule. It is expected that the schedule would last up to January meaning that the curtailment would be there for six days according to the areas earmarked on particular dates.
Similar curtailment schedule has been drawn up for many of the areas falling in the jurisdiction of Kathua district. Here too the areas have been classified into different groups and the curtailment schedule has been drawn up according to the grouping of the areas. The people of Jammu and Kathua districts are all set to face problems on account of long power cuts during the harsh days of winter.
