The residents of Loran of tehsil Mandi said that district Administration was claiming that all arrangements had been made to face the difficulties in snowfall in the area but all claims have fallen flat with the snowfall in these areas.
“Power supply which is very necessary to fight with this harsh weather but ever since the area has been experiencing snowfall, the power supply has been snapped and PDD has failed to restore it,” they alleged.
This part of Poonch experiences 6-7 feet snowfall and availability of basic amenities remain off due to slackness of concerned department, they alleged further adding that Administration has failed to provide firewood, ration in such severe weather conditions.
Not only this even the telecommunication services are also affected due to snowfall. We have been facing hardships under such conditions as the snowfall has been going on continuously and the lack of basic amenities have made things worse, they informed.
“Already people here are very poor who cannot buy kerosene oil and woods and now the Forest has not been providing us firewood which has made our lives miserable,” they alleged.
