Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh celebrated with religious fervour

JAMMU, Jan 5: Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singhj was celebrated today at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar Jammu with religious fervour and gaiety. The function was organized by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, in which devotees from different parts of state including women and children participated in large numbers, to pay obeisance and to seek blessings of Guru Sahib.
Prominent Sikh preachers and Ragi Jathas from within and outside the state delivered sermons and recited Gurbani Kirtan.The speakers threw light on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, describing him a saint soldier and a Poet who took sword to fight against the oppression and infused martial spirit in the people by soul inspiring heroic poetry.
Bhai Gurdeep Singh Ji, Preacher Kapurthala Wale delivered sermons Bhai Davinder Singh Ji, Hazoori Raghi, Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar, Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Jamalpuri, Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar, Bhai Gurpret Singh Ji Johal Sri Amritsar, Central Gurdwara, R. S. Pura, Bhai Jagtar Singh Ji Jammu Wale, Bhai Randhir Singh Ji and Bhai Surjeet Singh Ji of DGPC Jammu recited the Gurbani Kirtan and delivered sermons.
On this occasion, resolutions highlighting religious, social and political problems faced by the Minority Sikh community in the UT of J&K were presented. The resolutions were presented by S. Ramnik Singh, Member DGPC Jammu seconded by Avtar Singh Khalsa, Member DGPC and were approved by the huge gathering of Sangat amidst Chanting Jaikaras of Bole- So- Nihaal, Sat- Sri-Akal.
Jagjit Singh, President, DGPC Jammu while addressing the gathering, greeted the Sangat and urged the Lieutenant Governor's administration to fulfill the legitimate demands of the Minority Sikh community and assured the Sangat that DGPC Jammu with the cooperation and support of Sikh Sangat shall continue its whole hearted efforts for the redressal of all the genuine demands of Sikh Community. He also called upon the Sikh masses particularly youth to become Amritdhari (Baptised) as per the code of law instituted by the great Guru for his followers.
Jagjit Singh president DGPC Jammu thanked the gathering, volunteers, different organisations and entire administration for smooth conduct of Gurpurab celebrations and stated that DGPC Jammu will continue to organize such religious programs with cooperation of Sikh Sangat.
Fateh Singh General Secretary DGPC managed the stage. DGPC members namely Kuldeep Singh Vice President DGPC, Mohinder Singh Joint secretary DGPC, Manmohan Singh Member DGPC, Jathedar Mohinder Singh, member DGPC and President, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) J&K), Manjit Singh, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Karan Singh Wazir, Surjeet Singh, Ex-Secretary, DGPC, Jammu, Balwinder Singh RTI Activist, Ajmeet Singh, Balwant Singh Chatha and Harmainan Singh were present on the stage.
