BASOHLI, Jan 5: GDC Basohli observed Cybercrime Jaagrookta (Awareness) Diwas today, which is an initiative of the Govt of India. GDC Basohli organized an online lecture on "Social Media Frauds", under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Nidhi Kotwal. In the welcome address, Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra briefed the function and talked about the significance of Cybercrime awareness. Dr. Ashok Sharma, Assistant Professor, department of Computer Science and Information technology, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, had an interactive session with the students about cybercrimes. In the beginning of his lecture he discussed about the threats being posed by cyber criminals on social media. He also shared basic knowledge about how to keep our computers and mobile devices secure on cyber space. The proceeding of the event was attended online by faculty and students of the college. In her concluding remarks, Dr. Nidhi Kotwal reiterated the significance of awareness about the social media frauds; she also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra. |
