B R Sharma elected as Chairman IIPA J&K Branch

Jammu, Jan 8: B.R.Sharma, IAS (Retd) was re-elected as Chairman of the IIPA, JK Regional Branch for the period 2022-2024 during the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Branch which was held on January 8, 2022, through online mode. Dr. Ashok Bhan, IPS (Retd), Former DGP, J&K Police shall be mentoring the branch as Patron.
During the AGM, the new office bearers for the period 2022 – 2024 were also elected and the Executive Committee was also nominated. The office bearers elected for the period 2022 – 2024 are Er. J.B.S.Johar- Vice Chairman (Jammu); Dr. G.N.Qasba- Vice Chairman (Kashmir); Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS – Vice Chairman (Central); Prof Alka Sharma- Hony Secretary; Vikrant Kuthiala- Hony Treasurer; Dr. Anil Gupta- Joint Secretary (Jammu); G.M. Andrabi- Joint Secretary (Kashmir); i K.B.Jandial, IAS (Retd) Director Seminars; Lt Col (Retd) Karan Singh- Joint Director Seminar (Jammu) Prof S.M.Afzal Qadri- Joint Director Seminars (Kashmir)
The 15 member Executive Committee nominated include Kuldeep Khoda IPS (Retd), A.M.Watali IPS (Retd); Manoj Dwivedi, IAS; Dr. C.M.Seth IFS (Retd), Prof. Rekha Choudhary, Prof. Mehraj-ud-din, Er. M.M. Gupta, Prem Gupta IPS (Retd), Manoj Panditha, JKPS, Dr Naseer Iqbal Bhat; Shri Hitesh Gupta, JKAS, Dr Sudershan Kumar, Narinder Khajuria, JKAS; Qazi Shabeer Ahmad, Dr. Komal Nagar.
B R Sharma in his address while complimenting the outgoing team said that more active and focused effort is required to make the branch vibrant and performing. He said that the branch is committed to undertaking activities across all the regions of Jammu Kashmir and also in the UT of Ladakh.
Dr. Ashok Bhan in his address while congratulating the branch for achieving the distinction of being adjudged the 2nd best branch in the country consecutively for the last two years, said that the branch lay emphasis on undertaking research projects which are locally relevant and also having an impact on the public administration. He said that joint research projects in collaboration with various academic institutions and governments should be planned in order to realize the vision of the organization.
Prof Alka Sharma, Hony Secretary presented the annual report, and Sh. Vikrant Kuthiala, Hony Treasurer presented the statement of accounts for the last financial year. Prof Alka Sharma formally welcomed the august gathering and conducted the proceedings of the function. Er. M.M.Gupta was the returning officer during the conduct of the elections. Dr. Anil Gupta, Joint Secretary coordinated the AGM.
