DE & CC Jammu organises seminar on ‘Employment Avenues and Career Management-Position Yourself for Future’

Jammu, Jan 8: : A one day seminar on ‘Employment Avenues and Career Management-Position Yourself for Future’ was today organized by District Employment & Counselling Centre Jammu on 8 January 2022 here at Government Polytechnic College, Jammu.
The function was presided over by the Director Employment, Nisar Ahmed Wani.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director Employment talked about various activities undertaken by the department enabling the unemployed youth to enhance their employability skills and avail benefits of online registration, online counselling & other services provided via online mode by the Department during the pandemic.
The Director Employment also threw light upon the Awareness Camps being held throughout the UT of Jammu & Kashmir regarding the available various Self Employment Schemes.
The guest speakers for the seminar Sh. Sandeep Kumar Singh, Senior Manager, Chenab Textile Mills, Kathua delivered the talk on Functioning of Chenab Textile Mills & Emerging Job Opportunities in CTM.
Avinash Sharma, Director Alpha IT Systems, spoke about ‘Emerging Trends in Information Technology Sector’.
Suryakant Chaturvedi, North Zone Head from HCL Technologies Ltd. guided the students of the college on ‘Resume Preparation & Interview Skills for improved Job Opportunities ’ and
Dr. Vinod Sharma, Project Manager JKEDI, spoke about “Employment Scenario in J&K UT- issues, challenges and way forward”.
The prime focus of the seminar was to make the students familiar with the current job market and give them guidance & support to adapt according to it for better Career Opportunities. It aimed at putting them favorable position for future by enhancing their communication and interview skills which further facilitates personality & career development.
While welcoming the Dignitaries and the assembled youth, the Deputy Director, District employment & Counselling Centre Jammu, Dr. Manisha Koul highlighted the efforts of the DE&CC, Jammu in creating Awareness among the Youth regarding the various Self Employment Schemes by holding as many as 21 camps in District Jammu as also conducting online and offline Career Counselling Sessions for youth in educational Institutions, Panchayats & C- Dyte Centres reaching both Rural & urban Areas.
The Principal Govt. Polytechnic College, Ms. Ritu Jamwal, graced the occasion and hailed the initiative of the Department of Employment for conducting the seminar for the benefit of the Youth & understanding the need for the Youth to come forward to avail the benefits of such Initiatives of the Govt.
Maxiumn Gorkhie, Assistant Director, DECC Jammu, concluded the seminar by giving a formal vote of thanks, she expressed gratitude to dignitaries, teachers, students and other participants for their contribution and cooperation making the event a success.
