JAMMU, Jan 10: The Cyber Jagrookta Diwas is being organized in the virtual mode by the Department of Computer Science, GGM Science College today, under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Ravender Tickoo.
The guest speaker Mohd Yaseen Kichloo, SSP Security, Civil Sectt, Jammu, delivered lecture on "Sensitization On Various Cyber Risks Associated With Online Activities And How To Work Safely On Digital Platforms". He emphasized on the need to Use strong passwords, Be social-media savvy, ensure safety on social networking profiles (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), secure your Mobile Devices etc and then lastly call the right person for help, if you are a victim. He also enlightened the students with the various technical cyber crime security terms like phishing, spoofing, spams, sniffing etc by quoting real life examples.
More than 100 students along with NCC SW (girl) cadets and faculties of the college has attended the webinar. The program was presided over by Prof. Surinder Singh, HOD, Deptt of Computer Science. The Welcome Address was given by Dr. Kumar Saurabh. The event was coordinated by Dr. (Capt.) Anjana Sharma, Cyber Jagrookta Diwas Coordinator. Other members of the department viz. Prof Parminder, Prof Sajjad were also present in the event. The webinar ended with the vote of thanks by Prof Pinky Chandwal. |
