Jammu Administration convenes meetings with stakeholders to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour
Ceiling of 25 persons in public gatherings continues

JAMMU, Jan 10: In view of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases, Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg convened a series of meetings with district officers and representatives of market associations today.
Interacting with the representatives of Chambers of Commerce & Industries and various other market associations of the district, the Deputy Commissioner appealed them to follow and to encourage Covid Appropriate Behaviour while venturing into crowded areas.
“It is our collective responsibility to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour and other Covid-19 protocols to tackle the challenge. Many teams at district and sub-division level besides Police and other enforcement agencies are working hard to beware the public regarding the present Covid situation”, said the DC. He also sought cooperation of media fraternity in generating awareness among the masses.
The representatives of market associations, while applauding the efforts of the district administration, gave their suggestions and ensured of their cooperation in the fight against Covid.
SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli also sought public cooperation and said that those violating Covid-19 guidelines would be penalised according to law.
Rajan Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Gourav Gupta, Pooja Kapoor, Ashwani Khullar, and other representatives of Market Associations were present in the meeting.
Earlier, DC Anshul Garg, in a meeting with Tehsildars and Naib-Tehsildars directed for generating awareness about spread of Covid through public announcements, hoardings, appeals among various other media.
He also called for enforcement of Covid guidelines in places of public gathering including marriage halls, gyms, hotels, etc. “Our focus should be on awareness generation among the people rather than penalizing them”, maintained the DC.
The DC further informed that the ceiling of 25 persons in public gatherings would continue and be strictly enforced by the concerned SDMs and tehsildars.
