DDC Rajouri reviews COVID-19 mitigation, containment measures

RAJOURI, Jan 30: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the COVID19 mitigation and containment measures in the district. The DDC reviewed vaccination of the 15-18 age group, bedding capacity in the hospitals, medical oxygen supply, testing and treatment of positive COVID patients besides other related measures being put in place for the effective containment and management of the COVID19. The meeting was informed that the positivity rate in the district is lenient as peak is observed after every seven to eight days. It was also informed that the recovery rate is high while the hospitality rate is 0.3 per cent.
The CMO informed that there is adequate stock of kits, ventilators and Oxygen cylinders in the district. She also informed that the oxygen generation plants at GMC and Sunderbani are functioning smoothly. While inquiring about the status of the ongoing vaccination of the 15-18 age group, the DDC asked the concerned authorities to take effective measures to inoculate all eligible children at the earliest. He also took stock of the vaccination available in the district.
For effective surveillance in view of a third Covid wave, the DDC asked the Health Authorities to establish fever clinics. People having flu-like symptoms can visit these clinics for further treatment.
He also stressed on aggressive testing saying that it was the only way for early identification of COVID-19 cases to check its further transmission.
The chair was also informed that the e-Sanjeevani platform is also being used successfully as 72 calls had been received yesterday.
He asked the surveillance teams to advise the public not to lower guard and follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour religiously to safeguard their own and others lives. He made it clear that the District Administration will not allow any violation of Covid protocol.
