OBC demands 27% reservation
1/30/2022 10:36:56 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 30: An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Bansi Lal Chaudhary regarding implementation of 27% reservation as per Mandal Commission report and other demands by Jammu and Kashmir OBC. During the meeting, people said that on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day, the sections of the population were hoping that the Central and Jammu and Kashmir Government would implement 27% reservation to the backward classes on the occasion but sadly, the 73rd Republic Day 2022 is disappointing for OBC population. Members met Honorable LG on December 10, 2019 and 15th December 2021 where he assured that 27% reservation will be implemented within Jammu and Kashmir by 15th December 2021 but still demands of OBC are lying on the tables of the concerned.
In the meeting people asked that Why Honorable 9 Judges Supreme Court of India Mandal According to the commission report, 27% reservation is not being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and on the other hand, a month before the National Commission for Backward Classes New Delhi wrote a letter to the Jammu and Kashmir UT Government that the UT administration should immediately implement the 27% reservation in Jammu and Kashmir. Nothing has been done on the ground by the Jammu and Kashmir Governor's administration. The present UT government is taking a very narrow stance in this regard. All the promises have proved to be false and seem to be false. As per article 243D-6 and 243T-6 that OBC reservation should be implemented but since 75 years have been passed after independence the OBC have almost NIL reservation in "PANCHYATI RAJ SYSTEM AND URBAN LOCAL BODIES " in jammu and Kashmir
The attitude of the government towards the OBC section is totally unacceptable. The political reservation to this section of population within Jammu and Kashmir is still pending and we are called OSC instead of OBC which the government is not rectifying. . Unemployed youth, including National Scholarships and fellowships holders International Theatre Artists, Unemployed Postgraduate Engineers, Postgraduate Masters, Telecommunication Law Graduates and other Postgraduate youth are still striving hard for their bread and butter.
Kasturi Lal Basotra, Faqir Satya, Rajendra Kumar, Ashiq Hussain, Mohan Lal Pawar, Rajendra Kumar Sakka, Mohammad Shabbir, Balwant Raj Kataria, Raj Kumar Ashok Kumar among others participated in the meeting.
