DDC Chairman Rajouri visits far-flung areas of block Khawas; listens to peoples' issues

RAJOURI, Jan 30: To take first-hand account of public grievances at their doorsteps, Development Council Chairman Rajouri, Ch. Naseem Liaqat today conducted a tour of far-flung areas of block Khawas including Gadyog and Chakli.
During the event, the public and their representatives put forth several issues and demands of their areas including macadamization of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services, scarcity of staff in Govt institutions and other related issues.
Specific issues projected on the occasion included up-gradation of middle school Chakli to next level, sanctioning of a health sub-centre for Chakli, extension of PMGSY road from Dalhori to Gadyog, construction of a playground at Chakli, construction of road at Gai Nambal etc.
Addressing the participants, the DDC Chairman said that the District Development Council is working hard on the ground for the betterment of the people and to make available all basic amenities of life to the people living in far-flung areas of the district.
Reiterating the DDC's commitment to reach out to every soul in the district and solve their problems, he said that the Council is making untiring efforts to achieve equitable development of all the areas of the district.
Highlighting various welfare schemes and programs launched by the Government, the DDC Chairman urged the public to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
Underlining the objective of his visit, he said that such visits are made with the intent to redress public grievances and improve service delivery mechanisms to benefit the citizens at the grass-root level.
Seeking information about manday generation, he urged the PRIs to motivate people to work under MGNREGA and ensure that yearly targets in this regard are achieved.
While addressing the issues and demands of the locals, he assured that all the genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters.
Responding to the issue of the up-gradation of middle school Chakli to HS level, the DDC Chairman assured that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
While responding to the issue of extension of Dahlori to Gadyog, he apprised that the road will be extended in the Phase-IV of the PMGSY. Regarding the construction of the Gai Nambal road, he said that the DPR for the construction of the said road would be formulated at the earliest.
Regarding the construction of a playground at Chakli, he said that the playfield work has already been taken up and that he will ensure its early completion.
He also urged the PRIs to play a crucial role in the development of their areas and ensure that all the developmental works being executed in their respective jurisdictions are completed within the set times while adhering to quality parameters.
The DDC Chairman also observed that the PRIs should also impart necessary awareness to the public about the welfare schemes and programs so that the benefits of the welfare initiatives reach the last beneficiary of the district.
