Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 30: The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has been making us aware of the rich culture of the country and familiarising us with the unsung heroes, who have done splendid work in different fields but are very less known to the large population.
This was stated by Jammu and Kashmir BJP Secretary Rekha Mahajan and Co -Incharge "Mann ki Baat " Programme while listening to 'Mann ki Baat' in Booth number 117 of Ward number 54 of Trikuta Nagar, along with other residents, who said that during the last over seven years, Prime Minister, through his monthly radio talk, has introduced the people with diverse culture and achievements of Indians living in different states and honoured with national awards. This initiative of the PM has also served as a mean to add to the knowledge of people across the country, who, otherwise, may not be knowing much about the contribution of their own countrymen in promoting education, local traditions by donating their hard earned savings.
Rekha Mahajan said that on every last Sunday of the month, the people get an opportunity to listen PM through 'Mann ki Baat' programme, in which a lot of information is shared about programmes and policies of the government related to development, welfare, besides educating about the need to save envirorment, preserve natural resources, importance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Atam Nirbhar Bharat, vocal for local, discarding single use plastic.
The PM keeps receiving innovative ideas from youth in particular, for making India progressive and advanced to compete with the global trends, she said, adding that the people too come to know about the same through monthly talk.
Rekha further said that the PM also utilises the programme to ask the people to learn about the martyrs and make the young generation aware of the sacrifices of great patriots for the nation.
She said that during 'Mann ki Baat', the PM also interacts with country's artisans, craftsmen and those who have devoted their whole life for social service, through their own resources.
