Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 12: J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday inaugurated the musical water fountain with laser, light and sound show at Bagh-e-Bahu here, but the road leading to Bagh-e-Bahu is full of potholes and the unattended garbage greets the visitors.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha while inaugurating the musical water fountain said that it is the first of its kind in the Jammu region. And this innovative project will showcase cultural heritage and take the tourism in Jammu to new heights.
An observer said, "We don't doubt the intentions of the Lieutenant Governor Sahib. He wants to take J&K to new heights and is monitoring all the developments personally. But the bureaucrats around him are keeping him in dark. The road leading to Bahu Fort needs to be repaired and the unattended garbage has to be cleared. The Bahu Fort is the heritage site in Jammu but the official apathy has led to it getting neglected."
"Visitors reaching Bagh-e-Bahu have to pass through the road which in no way is upto the mark. The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) not clearing the garbage has made the things worse," he added.
It's in place to mention here that the Lt Governor while speaking at the inaugural ceremony stated that the unique amalgamation of heritage and modernity has been kept in mind while developing the historic Bahu fort. "Jammu offers spiritual and scenic richness that is divine. It has vast tourism potential and we are developing 37 offbeat destinations in Jammu Division that will boost the economy and provide a large number of jobs to the people," the Lt Governor said.
Another observer said, "The government is developing the tourist spots in Jammu but it needs to ensure that roads leading to these destinations are presentable and there is no filth around."
