Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 13: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu on Sunday appreciated J&K administration’s endeavours to pace up development in the UT by realizing several development projects one after another.
In a statement issued here, CCI President Arun Gupta alongwith the office bearers Anil Gupta, Sr. Vice President , Rajiv Gupta, Jr. Vice President , Gaurav Gupta, Secretary-General , Rajesh Gupta, Secretary , Rajesh Gupta, Treasurer applauded the efforts of LG Manoj Sinha for giving a fillip to development in Jammu by completing a number of development projects in record time.
He welcomed the installation and commissioning of the Musical Fountain in Bagh-E-Bahu Fort and relaying of stone for the artificial lake project.
Assuring full support to the government, he said that the exemplary pace with which the development is taking place in Jammu the days are not far when the tourist footfall in the region will cross all the previous records. He said that this was quite necessary to provide the required push to the local economy as there is no dearth of natural beauty in the vicinity of Jammu City but due to lackadaisical approach of previous governments the region failed to pick up pace as far as development and improvement in places of tourist interest are concerned.
He anticipated that the interest shown by LG’s administration towards improving the tourist edifice in Jammu region will bring tremendous changes in socio-economic profile through creation of new livelihood opportunities and also by significant increase in the influx of tourists hailing from different parts of the country and abroad.
He however, urged LG Sinha to make sure that the artificial lake project see the light of the day well in time because already much delay has been caused due to hiccups and lethargy of the successive governments that did only lip service but never paid any heed on ground thus leading to missing of deadlines one after another.
He said that once completed, the Tawi Lake Project will help in making Jammu an independent tourist destination catering the aspirations of the visitors of this city of temples in a complete manner.
He urged the LG to continue with the good work as this is necessary to bring Jammu on the country's tourist map and help people to lead a happy and contented life with no dearth of basic amenities and civic edifice.
