Court grants 8 days police remand then Tehsildar & Ors

JAMMU, Feb 21: In a much publicized in which Jammu Police and Revenue authorities today jointly carried out raids at 21 locations of 13 property dealers and serving and retired officials of the Revenue Department and arrested four persons besides affecting recovery of cash around Rs 26 lakh and large number of official documents which can't be kept at houses by the officials, Today Sub-Judge Jammu (13th FC) Suhseel Singh granted eight days police remand of Sadeeq Poswal, a property dealer of Channi Himmat, Mohammad Bashir, retired Tehsildar R/o Janipura, Dharampal, retired Girdawar from Sarore and Ghulam Rasool, retired Girdawar hailing from Sunjwan.
Sub-Judge Jammu (13th FC) Suhseel Singh after hearing APP Kuldeep Bhat observed that through the medium of this order, application for remanding the above named accused persons in police custody is being disposed of after hearing Inspector Deepak Katoch SHO P/S Channi Himmat Jammu and accused persons present in the Court. Sr. Adv P.N.Raina appeared for the Bashir Ahmed then Tehsildar also present Perused the application.
Court after perusal of the application reveals that above named accused persons have been arrested on 20-02-2022 in case FIR No. 182/2021. Offence U/S 409/120-B IPC of P/S Channi Himmat. Jammu. Court also heard Sr. Adv
P N.Raina Sr. Advocate appearing and APP Kuldeep Bhat for the prosecution and also perused the CD File and the material placed on record. As per the application, the investigation of the case is in progress, therefore keeping in view the nature of allegations and the stage of investigation, I am satisfied with the arguments advanced by Ld. APP. Thus accused persons produced before the court are remanded to police custody for a period of eight days and shall be produced in the court on 28-02-2022.
