PM inaugurates Garuda Aerospace Kisan Drone manufacturing facilities

JAMMU, Feb 21: The Honorable Prime Minister virtually inaugurated Make In India drone startup Garuda Aerospace's facilities simultaneously in two locations through video conferencing. The unique and innovative event also featured the PM pressing a Drona Button from his command center which resulted in 100 Kisan drones simultaneously taking off in 100 villages to commence agriculture spraying operations in 16 different states to celebrate 75 years of Progressive India as part of the AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.
Garuda's 110,000 sq feet manufacturing facility in Gurgaon set under a strategic partnership with Defsys Solutions is equipped with Advanced Design and Prototype testing capabilities. The 2.5-acre facility is a hub for drone software design, hardware structural testing, type certification, and manufacturing capacity of 40 drones per day. It is to be noted that 33 Anti Drone systems procurement order from MOD is being manufactured at this facility. Garuda's proposed Chennai Plant is located on a 20-acre facility where mass volume manufacturing capacity of 100 drones per day and manufacturing of 1,00,000 Kisaan drones are being planned over the next 2 years.
The PM commended Garuda Aerospace for the phenomenal growth the startup has undergone over the past 2 years & encouraged more youth to the Drone sector which he believes is about to skyrocket in the near future.
PM in his address emphasized "Having liberalized the Drone Rules in 2021, the Government has consistently been encouraging Aatmanirbhar Bharat with major policy decisions on Drone Shakthi and banning the import of foreign Drones'. He added by saying "Garuda Aerospace intends to manufacture 1,00,000 Make in India drones and employ 2.5 lakh Skilled Youth directly and indirectly in the next 2 years as drones will not only provide jobs but are also poised to disrupt several sectors like Agriculture, Surveying, Surveillance, and Industry 4.0 upgradation".
Present on the occasion, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder CEO, Garuda Aerospace said that having our Drone Facilities launched by the Prime Minister fuels Garuda's Vision to become India's 1st ever Drone Unicorn Startup that manufactures 6 lakh Drones & deploy 1 drones in each Indian village by 2025.
