Yogi Adityanath casts vote in Gorakhpur | | | agencies GORAKHPUR, Mar 3: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday cast his vote in the sixth phase of state assembly polls. The CM used his franchise at Gorakhpur's primary school in Gorakhnath Kanya Nagar area just after the polling began at 7 am. He is contesting from the Gorakhpur Sadar seat. This is the first time that he will be contesting an assembly election. Voting which began at 7 am will continue till 6 pm. Before casting his vote, the UP CM offered his prayers worshiped at the Gorakhnath temple. After voting, he appealed to the public to vote in the nine districts where polling is being held on Thursday. He said that the voting has now reached the crucial stage. "You have seen development projects in the last five years, such as inauguration of AIIMS and Kushinagar International Airport. Now is the time to make a choice between us and the people who support terrorism. Your single vote will make the UP number one economy of India," he said. CM said this election is a move to continue the development work in the state. "In the past five phases, the BJP had already got the majority and after the sixth phase the party will cross 300 mark," he claimed. |
