Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 13: Residents of the city of temples have expressed concern over the un-necessary delay in the operation of the sub-way constructed in the busy area of Gangyal. The people say that delay is leading to regular accidents in the Gangyal area.
Talking to Early Times a group of residents said that the construction work on the sub-way was completed way back in 2015 but the sub-way was not made operational for the reasons best known to the Jammu & Kashmir administration.
The residents are quite furious over this disturbing development and they say that the same mocks at the claims of development by the people at helm.
Residents said that there is no fun in spending crores of rupees on the construction of this sub-way since it has not been made operational. They said that regular accidents taking place on the road have failed to move the administration and the concerned officers as well as officials are sitting over the operation of the sub-way.
Residents said that three sub-ways have been constructed on the road leading to Bikram Chowk from Kunjwani but the same have also not been thrown open for the public. They said that delay in operation of these sub-ways goes against the administration claim that Jammu is poised to become a smart city.
