DC Jammu listens to public grievances at Block Bishnah

JAMMU, Mar 30: Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today attended a public outreach programme at Bishnah under Weekly Block Divas programme and listened to the public issues projected by delegations and individuals hailing from adjoining Panchayats.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the counters established by different departments including Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Fisheries, CDPO to sensitize the people about Ladli Beti Scheme, Employment schemes and other central and state sponsored schemes.
During the grievance redressal camp, the PRI members one by one highlighted the issues regarding their respective Panchayats which were mainly related to inadequate water supply and electricity, ration cards, PMAY, Road connectivity, up-gradation of schools, health centres etc. They presented a memorandum of demands to the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the PRI members, delegations and individuals and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their genuine grievances. He assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.
Highlighting different initiatives of the government, the Deputy Commissioner said that Weekly Block Divas is an opportunity to get firsthand information regarding the issues/problems being faced by the people. He impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the set targets of providing quality services to the rural masses. He said that the motive of this public outreach program was to reach out to the people and understand their problems.
The Deputy Commissioner also handed over caste certificates and land pass books to the land owners.
He said that the District Administration has started around 14 online services to provide speedy and on time facilities to the general public at their doorsteps. He also appealed to the people to use online mode services to get their work done.
