Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 30: Residents of Purmandal on have been sitting on a dharna for the past 25-days to seek establishment of degree-college in their area.
Protesters said, “PM Modi had sanctioned the degree college for Purmandal but its being constructed in Katwalata Panchayat in Mandal area.”
They said that the administration seems least interested in paying any attention towards our demand. “The degree college was sanctioned for Puramandal by PM Modi in 2019 but some officers in Samba administration sabotaged the move and shifted to Katwalata Panchayat.”
Protesters said, “The officials are lying by saying that there is no land available in Purmandal. They have conspired against us by showing that there is no stand land available. There is 222 kanal state available in Puramandal.”
They said, “We will fight to get a degree college established in our area till our last breath and will take this protest to New Delhi.”
“Our children living in upper areas find it difficult to reach Puramandal, if the degree college is constructed in Katwalata, children will find it difficult to reach there,” protesters said, “We urge Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into a matter and act against the officials who are sabotaging the move to build this college in Puramandal. PM Modi gave us degree college but bureaucrats have snatched it.”
