Stephens College of Nursing observes world health day

JAMMU, Apr 8: Stephens College of Nursing in collaboration with SMGS Hospital observed world health day to discuss about the theme, significance and purpose of observing it and to cognizant the general mass to remain healthy and save the planet Earth. The theme of World Health Day 2022 is 'OUR PLANET, OUR HEALTH'.
Community Health Nursing Department celebrated this day under the supervision of Manoj Kotru (Administrator SCON) and guidance of Kanupriya (Assistant Professor, HOD CHN SCON). The students of B Sc (N) 4th year along with Kanupriya worked assiduously to make the event successful.
The event commenced with the welcome speech presented by Ritu Gupta (Associate Professor and Activity in-charge SCON) which was followed by lamp lighting and introduction of 'World Health Day'. The introduction was given by Gurpreet Kour (B Sc nursing) 4th year. The renowned and reported doctors and paramedical were the special guests who graced the occasion.
They were Dr. Dara Singh (Medical Superintendent SMGS hospital), Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma (Deputy Medical Superintendent), Dr. Ganshyam Saini (HOD paedritics), Dr. Amit Gupta (HOD Gynae), Nirmal Kumari (Matron) and Pawandeep Kour (Assistant Matron). They were felicitated by the management of SCON for their support and collaboration towards society especially in pandemic.
A poster making competition was also organised in which students made stupendous and marvellous poster depicting theme of "WORLD HEALTH DAY". Angelina Burt bagged 1st position of B Sc (N) 2nd year and Himanshu Kundal of GNM 1st year secured 2nd position and Rashi clinched 3rd position in the competition.
Dr. Dara Singh also expressed his views and gave a brief note on WORLD HEALTH DAY. He congratulated the management, faculty members and the students for conducting the enthralling event. He wished everyone a Happy World Health Day.
