Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 10: Bhartiya Yog Sanasthan (Regd) headquartered at Rohini, Delhi celebrated its 56th Foundation Day (Sthapana Divas) today with fervour and enthusiasm across whole of India and abroad. This year the Foundation Day was celebrated at all of its 4000 centres as “maximum participation event”. The Sanasthan came into being on 10th April 1967. It is a non-sectarian, social, cultural and non-profit making organisation. It firmly believes in Bhartiya cultural heritage and aims to re-establish it by protecting and preserving it. It draws its inspiration from the lofty human ideals of Bhartiya culture viz “Vasudhaiv Kutumbkum” – Entire Universe is our Family and “Loka samastha sukhino Bhavantu”, “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina”- May all be happy- May all beings rejoice in peace and happiness- May all live for the service of humanity and inspire others to live in service of Almighty.
To fulfil this aim Sanasthan has chosen Yoga as its means and therefore celebrates 10 April every Year as its Foundation Day (Sathapna Divas).
Shri Satya Pal, President, BYS Jammu & Kashmir said that this year all the old, existing and prospective Yog Practioners (Sadhaks) were invited to attend the celebrations at all the 120 Yoga centres in the UT of J&K. Thousands of Yoga Lovers participated in today’s celebration. The benefits of adopting Yoga in our daily routine for overall physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing were put across by trained Yoga teachers of the organisation. Yoga at these centres is taught free of cost to the yoga aspirants without any colour, caste or creed discrimination. He said that our mission is to take Yoga to each and every household in the UT. For this purpose, more and more Yoga centres shall be opened this year in addition to reopening those centres which were closed temporarily due to Covid-19.
