| JMC Mayor, Deputy Mayor inaugurate integrated solid waste management garbage transfer station | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 16: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC along with Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor in presence of Mohinder Kumar Bhagat, Councillor ward 61 today inaugurated a modern integrated solid waste management garbage transfer station at Udhaywala Jammu.
The Mayor said that JMC is committed to provide better sanitation facilities in all the wards of the city and all the municipal councillors in coordination with JMC staff is working as a team from the last more than three & half years when they were elected as councillors of JMC so that Jammu can be made really a smart city. He said that the construction work of this garbage transfer center was started about a few months back & has been completed with the requisite amenities & allied activities with the construction of approach road measuring about 100 meters by linking with main road & has been inaugurated today with an expenditure of about Rs 29 lacs only.
The Deputy Mayor while speaking on the occasion also threw light on the working as well as importance of these garbage transfer stations where compactors, sucker machines are deployed for proper sucking of liquid waste and than its final disposal to the designated solid waste management plant. |
