EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Apr 16: Thousands of supporters of Subhash Sharma, Aam Admi Party leader, joined AAP in Jammu on Saturday.
The new entrants reposed faith on AAP leadership and assured Subash Sharma—a prominent social activist and ex-Sarpanch of Panchayat Patoli Brahmana about their support and cooperation.
The new entrants included panchs, sarpanchs, academicians, social workers, businessmen, grass root workers and their followers.
The new AAP members were welcomed by AAP’s Central Observer for Jammu Province, Pradeep Mittal and Central Co-observer for Jammu Province, Manish Sinha.
Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, District Development Council member from Suchetgarh Taranjeet Singh Tony, senior leaders Surinder Singh Shingari and MK Yogi, who recently joined the AAP were also present during the joining programme held at Patoli Brahmana wherein a large number of people from adjoining areas remained present amid sweltering heat.
While addressing the gathering Sharma said that AAP has emerged as a viable alternative in J&K to the time tested political outfits.
“Politicians like me were looking for an option which could fulfill the aspirations of Jammu people who were feeling cheated by the BJP, Congress, National Conference and PDP,” he added.
“AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal ji has taken a pledge to establish good governance in the country with people friendly policies. I am joining the Aam Aadmi Party influenced by his work,’’ he said..
He further said the Aam Aadmi Party is spreading all over the country and is moving towards transforming this country.
Senior AAP leader Pradeep Mittal said the party is growing from strength to strength in J&K and other states of the country. “The family of Aam Aadmi Party is continuously increasing day by day in J&K. People are whole heartedly supporting our programme and policies. We are hopeful that the party will get an absolute majority in J&K Assembly polls,” said Mittal.
“The people in J&K particularly Jammu province want that there should be a positive political change for good,’’ he asserted.
Other AAP leaders including Tony, Mankotia and Yogi who also addressed the gathering highlighted the achievements of AAP government in Delhi and early fulfilment of some of the major poll promises by AAP government in Punjab.
