JAMMU, Apr 24: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped and arrested Vinod Kumar Fotedar, Technician-2nd in the office of Assistant Executive Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Anantnag for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 for processing Power agreement case.
According to an ACB statement issued here, "Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging that Vinod Kumar Fotedar, Technician-2nd posted in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (PDD), Anantnag is demanding bribe of Rs 25,000 for processing Power agreement case of complainant. The complainant alleged that he is an owner of Poultry farm and he has to make Power consumption agreement for which he had applied and concerned had visited the spot also and demanded Rs 25,000 as bribe."
The statement further said, "Upon receiving the instant complaint, prima facie offence U/S 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 was found made out. Consequently, case FIR No. 07/2022 was registered in PS ACB Anantnag and investigation taken-up."
"During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted. The team caught red handed Vinod Kumar Fotedar, Technician-2nd posted in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Anantnag, while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 25000 from the complainant. He was arrested on the spot by the ACB team," it added.
It further said, "The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. Further investigation is going on." |
