Jammu, Apr 29: Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti, on Friday said that had the power projects being run in Jammu and Kashmir not been handed over to outside companies, the situation could have been better.
Talking to reporters here, Mehbooba said, “Today J&K is witnessing the worst power scenario in history. It’s unfortunate that natives are being deprived of their own resources.”
She said, “People are not even allowed to supply sand and bajri all the contracts are being given to outsiders. Even the jobs that were meant for locals are being handed over to the outsiders.”
Mehbooba said, “When PDP used to say that power projects should be handed over to J&K we were blamed for resorting to divisive politics. We always used to say that first the power should be first supplied to J&K, then to the rest of the country. Today all of you are saying the same thing.” |
