UT administration punishing us for supporting Modi, say Jammu people
Residents of areas known as strongholds of the BJP battling to get basic amenities like bijli, pani

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 29: Battling to get even the basic amenities like Bijli and Pani, residents of Jammu feel that they are being punished by a section of Babus for continuously supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014.
This new breed of Babus has already snatched the bread and butter of the people of Jammu by allowing the mafia to brazenly plunder all economic resources of this region now residents of Jammu are being denied basic amenities like power and potable water.
Using social media to express his anger against the present dispensation, Ravi Singh, a resident of the old city, which has been a citadel of BJP, Jan Sangh and Praja Parishad since 1947, regretted the first time inhabitants are facing such worst-ever water and power crises.
Singh is not an isolated case, social media is flooded with such comments and posts where people are of the view that they are being punished for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.
Although the entire Jammu province is facing the worst-ever power and water crises, residents of areas- known as strongholds of the BJP, are bearing the maximum brunt of the prevailing mess due to their nationalist approach. The entire Kandi belt of Samba, Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, and Reasi is, first time, facing an acute scarcity of drinking water in April. These areas are considered strongholds of nationalist political parties since the days of Praja Parishad and Jan Sangh. A section of people is of the view that it is a deliberate attempt on the part of some Babus of the present regime to increase alienation among people to create a narrative that Jammu residents lost everything after the abrogation of Article 370.
People believe that a breed of Babus is working overtime, by taking anti-people steps, to sabotage positive initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in J&K after the abrogation of article 370.
Pertinent to mention here that this section of Babus has already gagged the voice of a section of the media for only supporting the abrogation of article 370. A vindicate approach has been adopted against the media for supporting the Centre’s historical step to abrogate article 370 and bifurcate the erstwhile state of J&K into two Union Territories.
