APS Kaluchak celebrates 8th International Yoga Day
6/21/2022 9:18:45 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 21: The NCC cadets hailing from SW, JW and JD of the school fervently participated in the 8th International Yoga Day. This year the theme for the celebration was 'Yoga for humanity', which promotes the holistic route to health while keeping in mind the physical, emotional and mental turmoil that people had witnessed during the pandemic. Instilling the same spirit of physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines, the NCC cadets embarked on a journey of the self, through the self, to the self.
A total of 125 SW, JW and JD cadets actively practiced myriad yogic asanas and meditated to achieve inner peace and bliss. Yoga is not just repetition of few postures, it is more about the exploration and discovery of the subtle energies of life. These yogic asanas were performed under the guidance and supervision of the instructor Sudhir Jamwal. The cadets realized the immortal words of Buddha- "Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom."
The event was greatly coordinated by Chief Officer Deepak Walia of 2 J&K Boys Bn and Lt. Monika Dhar of 2 J&K Girls Bn under the aegis of school management and culminated with taking of pledge by the NCC cadets to carry forward the legacy and zeal of yoga amongst the youth. The pledge highlighted upon the fact thatyoga is the space where flower blossoms, a perfect way to understand how to transcend the bondage of selfish genes, to live light, spread the light, and be the light. Towards the end refreshment was also given to the cadets for their humble participation.
