BLSKS celebrates “World Music Day”

JAMMU, June 21: To celebrated the World Music Day & International Yoga Day, to promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production, presented Musical Concert, " Jai Duggar Jai Dogri " on the theme of "MUSIC ON THE INTERSECTIONS" at rehearsal hall, Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu. The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government, Among the Guest of Honors present were Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department Jammu, V.K. Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India & R.P. Amla, Assisted the Concert. The day commemorated as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian nation in general awareness items. The Specially items prepared on the theme "Jai Dogri Jai Duggar", "Sangeet se milti hai mann ko santusti", "Tandrustri hazar Niyamat Hai", "Jammu Sada Dogra da shear je", " Kalyan Kawa", "Hum sab ko mil kar kasam ek khani hai", Nukkad, Skits, Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guest, said Music has never been more accessible than in today's world. With just a tap on our smartphones, we can tune in to our favourite songs by choosing the genres and artists we love listening to. And, that's why World Music Day holds utmost significance to the present generation. World Music Day is celebrated on June 21. The day cherishes the spirit of music, the vibrancy of vocals and the melody of instruments and chief guest also lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective. In addition to the above program the artist of BLSks also celebrated International Yoga Day on theme of this year is 'Yoga for wellness', a motto aligned to the current pre-occupations & yoga as an invaluable gift, which keeps both body and mind healthy and asks people to make it a part of their lives. Yoga is India's invaluable gift to the world and it has helped several people deal with the Covid-19 crisis and also presented Dogri song on "Savdhan Savdhan Corona Mahamari se bacha lo apne Pran". The song were written by M.L. Dogra & the music was assisted by Mr.Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor BLSKS . The songs were also recorded and uploaded online on social media for general public benifits.
Welcome speech was given by M.L. Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who highlighted the event and said however, this year, owing to the pandemic, World Music Day celebrations will be held in a low-key manner and chances of a huge public gathering seem highly unlikely. Dogra also said Music has the power to do just about anything. It has the ability to make you feel emotions that you may have been connected to before. Not only that, music is able to heal you during the worst of times Music is like therapy. It is plays a very important role in our lives. I hope you enjoy your day with good music. Warm wishes to you on this day & Free live music is played everywhere. World Music day has now become a global event. The feeling you get while listening to your favorite song is incredible. I don't think you can describe it in words. I hope that you get to here the best music today and everyday. It is celebrated to highlight the importance of music and how it is beneficial for the human mind and body. Many studies and experts have pointed out that music helps in reducing stress, provides better sleep and keeps us going. Music therapy has proved wonders for people battling mental issues and it can also help an individual to exercise better. With the right kind of music, people can concentrate on their jobs and also perform better.
Renu Saproo, Yoga expert said meditation can also help regulate your emotions and improve reasoning, decision-making, learning among other things. "Meditation also reduces activity in the limbic system-the part of the brain dedicated to emotions. As your emotional reactivity diminishes, you have a more thought through response when faced with stressful situations. The singers, musician, actors and students of music and computer institute who participated in the musical concert were Usha Raina, Zulekha Farid, Chahat Chadha, Sanjeev Sodhi, Dhruv Pandit, Ujwal Sharma, Bodh Raj, Mohd Afroz, Gourav Kumar, Vandana Gupta Sunil Kumar, Kamla Devi, Bindia Okheda, Saparsh Sharma and many others presented enthralled performances.
