Drive against bovine smuggling continues in Mahore

REASI, June 21: Drive against bovines smuggling in District Reasi continues, team of District Police Reasi laid special nakas, arrested 15 bovine smugglers while rescuing 48 bovines from their possessions. Team of Police Station Mahore led by Insp. Karnail Singh SHO Police Station Mahore under the Supervision of Chabail Singh SDPO Mahore laid surprise nakas at Mahore area of foiled six bovines smuggling attempts and registered 06 case FIRs numbers 59/2022, 60/2022, 61/2022, 62/2022, 63/2022 & 64/2022 under relevant sections in a night long operation against bovine smuggling and rescued 36 bovines from the possessions of 12 bovine smugglers namely 1. Shabir Ahmed S/O Noor Sain R/O Shikari 2. Hassan Mohd S/O Roshan Din R/O Shikari. 3. Shahnawaz S/O Shah Ibrahim R/O Thuroo 4. Imran Ali S/O Diwan Ali R/O Kansoli Sella Mahore 5. Rayaz Ahmed S/O Shan Ibrahim R/O Thuroo. 6. Basharat Ali S/O Mohd Saber R/O Thuroo 7. Riaz Ahmed S/O Gulam Mohd. 8. Zakir Hussain S/O Mohd Hussain R/O Shikari 9. Manawar Hussain S/O Sultan Mohd R/O Thuroo. 10. Mubarkh Malik S/O Mohd Maqbool R/O DH Marg Tehsil Kulgam.
These ten accused persons were arrested on the spot and investigation initiated to unearth forward and backward linkages.
In another incident team of Police Post Malikote laid a surprise naka at Malikote area and intercepted two bovine smugglers and rescued 04 bovines from the possession of smugglers namely 01. Irshad Hussain S/O Nathia Khan R/O Bhagankote District Reasi, 02. Krishan Singh S/O Bhag Ram R/O Bhagan-kote District Reasi.
While foiling another attempt of bovines smuggling Police team of of SPP Chillad intercepted 03 bovine smugglers and rescued 08 bovines from their possessions. Accused Arrested identified as Mohd Rafiq S/O Fiaz Mohd R/O Judda 02 Talib Hussain S/O Ashiq Ali 03 Mohd Aslam S/O Kallu R/O Hunder District Reasi. In this regard a Case FIR No. 94/2022 U/S 188 IPC 11(1) (a) PCA Act. Has been registered at Police Station Arnas. While sharing the details SSP Reasi Amit Gupta-JKPS conveyed that Reasi Police is leaving no stone unturned to eradicate the menace of Bovine Smuggling from the area which is prerequisite to maintain peace and tranquillity in the region.
