Sangeet Natak Akademi donates publications to Government GLDM Degree College Hiranagar

JAMMU, June 21: Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA), New Delhi - the national academy of music, dance and drama donated 418 (Four hundred eighteen books including journals and aided publications) publications of performing arts to Department of Music, Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar. The publications were received by the initiatives made by Dr Bharat Bhushan, Head of the Department of Music who made the proposal and sent it to Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi with the support and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pragya Khanna Principal of Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar. After the handover of books Dr. Bharat Bhushan said on the occasion that the Department of Music is now planning to establish the Departmental library of Music Department and the library will open for all the students, music lovers and research venture of Jammu and Kashmir with some terms and conditions. Speaking on the occasion Prof. (Dr.) Pragya Khanna Principal of Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar said that this is the first step of our college for the promotion of art as these books can help our wards to know about Indian Culture. I am confident that our college will be a hub in coming days in terms of Cultural activities as we have already planned many events with the support of Sangeet Natak Akademi and other prestigious organizations in our premises.
The efforts received overwhelming response by the Sangeet Natak Akademi who not only accepted the proposal but also took no time to sanction/donate the publications to Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar. Sangeet Natak Akademi sent one representative to Hiranagar to handover the books to Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar. Further Prof. (Dr.) Pragya Khanna Principal of Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar felicitated the representative of SNA Gourav Sharma.
