JAMMU, June 21: Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu celebrated 8th International Day of Yoga. This marks the culmination of one month long various activities under the banner of Holistic Health and Yoga Club, MAM College Jammu to celebrate International Day of Yoga as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
All these activities were conducted under the able guidance and patronage of college Principal sir Prof. (Dr) G.S.Rakwal.
This event was organized on theme "Yoga For Humanity" by Holistic Health and Yoga Club in collaboration with NSS unit, NCC Naval Wing, NCC Armed Wing and Sports Deptt. of the college which was largely attended by students and faculty members.
Participants gathered at 6.30 am and watched exclusive live address of Prime Minister from Mysuru Palace, Karnataka from 6.40 am to 7.00 am. It was followed by yoga session from 7.00 am to 7.45 am by yoga expert Sh. Raman Sharma. Audience was briefed about benefits of yoga for holistic health.
Event was convened by Dr Gurdeep Kour and Prof. Kaushal Kiran Thakur. Organizing faculty members present were Prof Ruth. K Masehi, Dr Satinder Juneja, Dr Harbhajan Singh, Prof Raj Kumar, Prof Ranjodh Singh, Prof Sudesh Kumar, Prof Mohinder Sharma, Prof Dheeraj Kumar, Prof Shabeer and PTI Neenu. Refreshment was served to the participants. |
