994 cases settled in National Lok Adalat

RAJOURI, May 13: National Lok Adalat for all types of cases was held today at District Court Complex, Rajouri under the Chairmanship of Mehmood Ahmad Choudhary ( Distt & Sessions Judge, Rajouri). As many as 7 benches were constituted to settle the cases.
Bench No 1 was headed by Mehmood Ahmad Choudhary (Distt & Sessions Judge, Rajouri) and was assisted by Rayaz Ahmed Choudhary (Sub-Judge/Special Mobile Magistrate, Rajouri). Similarly, Bench No. 02 was headed by Manjeet Rai (Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rajouri) assisted by Mahjabeen Akhter (District Mobile Magistrate (Traffic), Rajouri).
The other benches consisted of officers from the Social Welfare Department, Revenue Department, Transport Office, Municipality and Labour Department.
Similar benches were also constituted at Tehsil Levels which were headed by the Presiding Officers of the respective Courts. A total No. of 1482 cases both Pre-Litigation and Post-Litigation cases were taken u of which 994 Cases were disposed of.
An amount of Rs. 503277 (Four lakh Fifty thousand Five Hundred and Twenty seven) was provided as compensation.
The National Lok Adalat took up 18 MACT Cases of which 12 were settled and amount of Rs. 7093277 was awarded as compensation. The representatives of Banks, Advocates of different Insurance companies, Bar members, PLVs, Staff members, Litigants and large number of people participated in the National Lok Adalat,.
