Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 22: The Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Vikar Rasool Wani, extended a warm welcome to a significant number of Sarpanchs, Ward Members, Executive Members, and Prominent Workers from different political parties in the Doda Constituency. Led by Congress leader Sheikh Riyaz Ahmed, they joined the Indian National Congress in Jammu.
Describing it as a result of the Congress Party's ongoing struggle to safeguard the rights of all people, regardless of their background, region, or religion, Wani expressed his gratitude to the newly joined members. He emphasized their trust in the Congress Party's pro-people policies and acknowledged the party's relentless efforts to ensure safety, equality, and justice for all.
Taking aim at the BJP government, Wani criticized them for depriving the people of J&K of their democratic rights and for the subsequent betrayals on various fronts, particularly regarding the restoration of statehood and the holding of elections in J&K. He highlighted the growing discontent and disenchantment among the people as a result.
Wani affirmed that the Congress Party would continue to fight for the restoration of statehood with constitutional guarantees. He also emphasized the need to hold the BJP government accountable for its failures and betrayals, as they had promised to restore statehood to J&K on the floor of the house but were deliberately delaying the process in order to maintain direct control over the region from the Centre.
Among the distinguished individuals who joined the Congress Party were Mohd Shafi Magray (Sarpanch), Mohd Shafi Batt (Executive Member), Mohd Hanif Batt (Vice President), Fareed Ahmed Khan (Secretary), Rehmatulla Seeh (Executive Member DAP), Nisar Ahmad Shaikh (Executive Member DAP), Gh Rasool Paray (General Secretary), Zulfiqar Ahanger (Joint Secretary), Tanveer Ahmed (Ward Member DAP), Ghul Mohd (Ward Member DAP), Manir Magray (Ward Member DAP), Asgar Hussain (Ward Member DAP), Gulshan Ahmed (Ward Member DAP), Asagr Hussain (Ward Member DAP), Sajad Ahmed (Naib Sarpanch), Mujeeb Ahmed (Ward Member DAP), Gh Rasool (Ward Member DAP), Bashir Harga (Ward Member DAP), Sajad Butt (Member DAP), Mohd Amin (Ward Member DAP), Shoket Ali, Nazir Khanday, Sajid Banjori (Member PDP) and many others.
