It added that the arrangement in respect of the doctors is purely on a temporary basis.
The Union Territory administration has failed to appoint a fulfilled and permanent Director Health Services even after the passing of 51 days.
As reported earlier by the Early Times it was all due to a lack of consensus among higher-ups in the administration no decision has been taken to the new Director Health Services.
“All the potential candidates have the backing of different groups are in the race for this important post so higher-ups have yet not finalized any name”, sources said, adding, “Instead of taking any decision on the name of Director Health Services higher-ups is trying to adopt casual approach”
As reported earlier, on March 31, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman Director Health Services Jammu attained superannuation. As per tradition and keeping in view the importance of the department earlier it was routine to appoint a new director a week before the retirement of the incumbent director but this time appointment has not been made even after the retirement of the director.
Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman was looking after the charge of Director Health Services. He was actually appointed as Director General Family Welfare.
