Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 22: On May 22 and 23 in Jammu, a common grand function was organized by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Sukka Graint to celebrate the 646th Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj and the 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar. The event saw the presence of various notable individuals and included speeches and sermons. Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj captivated the audience with his sermons, shedding light on the life and mission of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj. He urged people to follow the teachings of these great saints to make the nation a stronger and better place to live.
Rakesh Wazir, President of the Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, and a senior Congress leader, was also prominently present at the event. He spoke about the life and teachings of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj and the contributions of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Sahib towards the welfare of people, especially the upliftment of the downtrodden and weaker sections of society.
Wazir emphasized the importance of following the path shown by these great personalities and eliminating disparities among different sections of society based on caste, creed, color, and religion. He believed that this was the key to progress and building a good nation, where humanitarian values are given priority.
Wazir further highlighted the significance of such functions in community building, particularly when people seem to be forgetting human values and the younger generation is getting entangled in negative habits that were not prevalent in the past. He expressed his gratitude to Parvez Dewan, the former Advisor to the Governor, and Rohit Kansal, the former Commissioner Secretary of PWD, for their efforts in establishing a direct link between Katra-Akhnoor via Deva Mai-Sukka Graint Agore. This new route has reduced the distance between Akhnoor and Katra by 35 kilometers and travel time by over an hour. Among the other notable attendees at the event were Babu Ram, President of Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Sukha Grand, Pardan Rattan Lal, Chairman Sarban Dass, General Secretary Ramesh Lal, Cashier Shallow Ram, Master Ashok Kumar, Babu Khan, Neeraj Jamwal, and many others
