Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 22: Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta today unveiled the newly revamped UT portal, a comprehensive platform for integrated information and services provided by various Government Departments, in the presence of Commissioner Secretary, IT, Prerna Puri.
Dr. Mehta commended the IT Department and the NIC for developing this inclusive platform that offers both services and information. He emphasized that the portal would serve as a one-stop solution for individuals seeking services or information about various aspects of the UT.
During the launch, the Chief Secretary inquired about the public's response to online services. He also took note of the feedback from applicants regarding the RAS portal and the status of service integration with the Auto-appeal system, aiming for timely service delivery to the public.
The portal's goal is to provide holistic information about J&K to the country's citizens. Its core functionalities include information on the UT's government structure, budget, key notifications, government schemes, key officials, important institutions, news feed, social media, and emergency contacts. Additionally, it offers transactional government services for citizens, businesses, and overseas individuals.
The portal features sections such as the UT's profile, available in English, Urdu, and Hindi. It also provides information about the government and its officials, with links to departments and all districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Important links to websites like the LG Office, GAD, J&K Police, Fire & Emergency Services, Traffic Police, SKIMS, EDI, JKPSC, JKSSB, e-Unnat, e-Gov Initiatives, Mobile Apps, Educational Institutions, Citizen Services, Tenders & Advertisements are accessible on the portal.
Significantly, the portal delivers updates and news related to Jammu & Kashmir, providing authentic information to the people. The Explore J&K section showcases the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir and allows visitors to explore Handicrafts, Tourism, Arts & Culture, Horticulture, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, and more.
It was also announced that the Portal is fully compliant with the National e-Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) Guidelines of DARPG. It includes a list of Districts with contact details of District Magistrates and senior officials, as well as a facility to lodge grievances or complaints on the Portal.
During the event, the CS also launched the onboarding of 16 schemes from the Agriculture Production Department (10), Social Welfare Department (4), and Mission Youth (2) on the 'myScheme' portal. This exclusive web portal serves as a centralized platform for all beneficiary-oriented schemes and welfare programs offered by the government.
Some of these schemes include the Integrated Sheep Development Scheme, Kisan Credit Card, RKVY, PM KISAN, National Agriculture Market, Sub-mission on Agriculture Mechanization, Residential School for the Blind, Nari Niketans, Bal Ashrams, Financial Assistance to Child Victims of Violence, Rise Together, and Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative, among others.
